NSU students distribute 1,300 blankets in Rajshahi winter drive
Every year, the northern region of Bangladesh faces intense cold waves that severely affect the lives of underprivileged people. Many families struggle to stay warm due to the lack of essential winter clothing. To extend warmth to those in need, the North South University Social Services Club has once again organized its annual humanitarian initiative, “Winter Clothing Drive 2025”.
The event took place on the 28th December, 2025, in Paba Upazila, Rajshahi. NSUSSC distributed around 1300 blankets and warm clothing to families facing harsh weather conditions. To maintain a smooth and organized distribution, a group of club members arrived a day earlier to distribute tokens to the recipients. Nearly 40 dedicated members participated in the on-site execution of the event.
The initiative was supervised by the club’s respected Faculty Advisor, Meshbaul Hasan Chowdhury, who was present throughout the event. He expressed the value such initiatives add to society and to the personal development of the young students by stating that, “Community service activities like this strengthen the spirit of empathy among young people and foster a deeper understanding of social responsibility. It is inspiring to see our students voluntarily stepping forward to support vulnerable communities.”
He also added, “Such initiatives help students develop their leadership, teamwork, and organizational skills while nurturing a strong humanitarian mindset that will guide them in the future.”
Khalid Bin Morshed Ramim, the President of the club, stated that the initiative reflects the club’s commitment to humanity and social responsibility. He expressed his sincere appreciation for the dedication of the volunteers and reaffirmed NSUSSC’s goal to extend support to more vulnerable communities in the future.
Residents expressed their utmost gratitude for the timely support and expressed that the assistance offered significant relief during the cold season.
