Mobile court raids in Madhukhali

A mobile court has sentenced a young man named Dawood Molla (35) to one year of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of one lakh taka in Madhukhali, Faridpur, on charges of manufacturing and marketing illegal adulterated fertilizers and pesticides. Three months in jail in default .On Monday afternoon, the mobile court handed down this sentence to Md. Dawood Molla (35), son of Kabir Molla of Bagat village of Bagat union.
Executive Magistrate and Madhukhali Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Abu Russell said that based on secret information, Dawood Mollah is manufacturing and marketing fake fertilizers and pesticides using the logos and packets of various well-known companies in a residential house adjacent to the cemetery on the east side of Bagat Dakhil Madrasa.
Using the village police as a source, a mobile court operation was conducted there on Monday afternoon and fake fertilizers and pesticides worth lakhs of taka were seized. Dawood Mollah was sentenced to one year of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of one lakh taka under Section 43 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Krishibid Md. Mahbub Elahi, Madhukhali Police Sub-Inspector Tanmoy Saha, along with local farmers and common people, were present at the time.
