EC continues dialogue, meets 24 political parties over two days

The Election Commission (EC) held discussions with 12 political parties on Saturday and is scheduled to meet another 12 parties on 17 November as part of its ongoing engagement with registered political groups ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election.
Md Asadul Haque, assistant director of the EC’s Public Relations Wing, confirmed the developments on Saturday.
The consultations with political parties began on 13 November. On Sunday (16 November), from 10am to 12pm, the EC is set to meet Gono Forum, Gono Front, Islamic Front Bangladesh, Islami Oikya Jote, Bangladesh Supreme Party (BSP), and Bangladesh National Party.
Later, between 2pm and 4pm, the Commission will exchange views with Bangladesh Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Bangladesh JASOD), Bangladesh National Awami Party (Bangladesh NAP), Trinamool BNP, Krishak Sramik Janata League, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, and Islami Andolan Bangladesh.
On Monday (17 November), the third day of the dialogue, 12 more parties-including Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami-have been invited.
In the morning session, the EC will hold talks with Bangladesh Labour Party, Bangladesh Shangskritik Muktijot, Bangladesh National Awami Party, Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh, Bangladesh Kalyan Party, and Bangladesh Muslim League (BML).
The afternoon session will include discussions with Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party), Bangladesh Development Party, Bangladesh Islami Front, Khelafat Majlis, and Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JAGPA).
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A M M Nasir Uddin will chair the meetings, with other election commissioners in attendance.
