Woman Drug Dealer Arrested with a Large Quantity of Yaba in Delduar

A special operation by RAB-14, CPC-3, Tangail Camp has led to the arrest of a female drug dealer along with a large quantity of Yaba tablets in Delduar upazila of Tangail district.

The matter was confirmed by Major Kawsar Bandhan, Company Commander of RAB-14, CPC-3, Tangail Camp, at a press briefing held at the camp on Thursday afternoon.

Major Bandhan said that acting on a tip-off, the RAB team learned that a female drug peddler was transporting Yaba tablets from Tangail Sadar area towards Nagarpur by a CNG-run auto-rickshaw. Based on this information, a RAB team set up a check-post in front of Mohammadpur Purba Para Jame Mosque on the Delduar–Tangail road around 9:00 am on Thursday (October 30).

During the search, the team stopped a CNG auto-rickshaw and detained Marjina Begum (38), a resident of Bahakodia area under Kapasia Police Station in Gazipur district. She is the daughter of Hafiz Uddin Dorji, also known as Mojibur Dorji.

Upon searching her, the RAB members recovered 3,950 pieces of Yaba tablets, a smartphone, and Tk 2,000 used in drug trading. The estimated market value of the seized Yaba tablets is approximately Tk 11,86,500.

Major Bandhan added that legal action is being taken against the arrested woman under the relevant laws. He also emphasized that RAB-14, Tangail Camp, will continue such operations as part of their ongoing efforts to eradicate drug trafficking in the region.
