Nat’l fisheries week prostponed

Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus has postponed the scheduled National Fisheries Week programme of after the declaration of observance of the one-day state mourning following the tragic training aircraft crash in the capital’s Diabaria area on Tuesday.

“The Chief Adviser’s programme of the National Fisheries Week, which was scheduled to be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, has been postponed. The event will be held at the same time on Wednesday,” said the Chief Adviser’s press wing, reports UNB.

The government on Monday announced that Tuesday would be observed as a day of national mourning following the tragic crash of a Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) training aircraft on the Milestone School and College in the capital’s Diabari area.

On the day of mourning, the national flag was kept at half-mast at all government, semi-government, and autonomous offices, as well as at all educational institutions across the country on Tuesday, said a press release issued by the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing.

Earlier in the day, a BAF F-7 BGI training aircraft crashed on the Milestone School and College campus around 1:18pm, leaving at least 19 people dead and many others injured till Monday’s evening.
