A Dhaka court on Wednesday granted a 7-day remand for Subrata Bain, also known as Fateh Ali, in connection with the murder of Jubo Dal leader Md Arif Shikder in the capital’s Hatirjheel area.

Metropolitan Magistrate Md Abdul Wahab issued the remand order after the case’s investigating officer appealed for a 10-day remand.

According to the case details, Arif Shikder was shot on the night of April 19 in front of “The Jheel Cafe” on Nayatola Morol Goli, under Hatirjheel Police Station. He was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with bullet wounds and succumbed to his injuries on April 21.
