RMG workers block Dhaka-Tangail highway over unpaid wages

Traffic on the Dhaka-Tangail highway was halted for nearly half an hour on Thursday as workers from a garment factory blocked the road, demanding the payment of their outstanding wages.
Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Konabari Police Station, said the workers of Swadhin Garment staged demonstrations inside the factory demanding to clear their dues, reports UNB.
Later they took to the highway around 11am near Konabari flyover, halting traffic movement.
On information, police rushed to the spot and assured clearance of their dues.
Getting assurance, the workers withdraw their blockade programme around 11:30am.
