Resounding victory for Barishal in BPL Cricket

Fortune Barishal recorded a resounding eight-wicket victory over Dhaka Capitals in their match of the Dutch-Bangla Bank Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Thursday.
After yesterday’s outcome, Fortune Barishal collected eight points from six matches, while Dhaka Capitals remained with two points playing eight matches.
Chasing Dhaka Capitals’ total of 139 off 19.3 overs, Fortune Barishal stormed into the victory target making 145 for the loss of two wickets remaining with 24 deliveries.
Fortune Barishal had a sorrow start as opener Najmul Hossain Shanto (2) was caught by Tanzid Hasan Tamim off Abu Jayed when Barisha’s score was just eight.
Opener Tamim Iqbal and one-down Dawid Malan rescued their team from danger contributing together 117 runs for the second wicket partnership before Tamim Iqbal was bowled out by Thisara Perera when Barishal’s total was 125 for the loss of two wickets.
Tamim Iqbal hammered a hurricane 61. His 48-ball innings was belted with six fours and a sixer. Tamim Iqbal was adjudged the Man of the Match for his terrific innings.
After Tamim Iqbal’s dismissal, Dawid Malan and Janandad Khan helped their side to anchor the winning spot.
Dawid Malan remained unbeaten with 49 runs. He hit three fours and a sixer in his 41-ball knock.
Janandad Khan remained unbeaten with 13 runs.
Thisara Perera and Abu Jayed took one wicket each conceding 25 and 28 runs respectively.
Dhaka Capitals had a good start with two openers Tanzid Hasan Tamim and Litton Das put on together 31 runs in the opening stand before Litton Das (13) was caught behind by wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim off Ripon Mondol.
Tanzid Hasan and Sabbir Rahman built a remarkable partnership scoring together 30 runs in the fourth wicket stand before Sabbir Rahman (10) was caught by Dawid Malan off Tanvir Islam when Dhaka’s total was 78 for the loss of four wickets.
Then, Dhaka Capitals failed to make any notable partnership.
Tanzid Hasan Tamim fought back hitting a polished 62. He struck four sixes and two fours in his 44-ball innings before Tanzid Hasan Tamim was caught behind by wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim off Faheem Ashraf when Dhaka’s score was 120 for the loss of seven wickets.
Farmanullah Safi made 22 playing 16 deliveries with two sixes and one four.
Tanvir Islam grabbed three wickets in the space of 39 runs, while Faheem Ashraf bagged a pair of wickets at the cost of 23 runs.
Mahmudullah Riyad, Jahandad Khan and Ripon Mondol took one wicket each for six, 15 and 27 runs respectively.
