Coast Guard watches 299 Durga Puja pavilions in coastal belts

Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) has been working to ensure foolproof security at 299 pavilions of the Durga Puja, the largest festival of the Hindu Community, in the coastal belts of the country.
“Coast Guard personnel have been entrusted with ensuring the overall security of 299 temples and pavilions of the Durga Puja in the coastal belts from October 1 till the immersion of the idols of the Durga goddess,” Lt Commander Salman, Staff Officer of Operations, BCG, told a press conference at its headquarters in the capital city’s Agargaon, reports BSS.
He said the members of the Coast Guard remain prepared in the costal belts to protect the places of payers, life and livelihoods of the people alongside checking any kind of subversive acts ahead of the Durga Puja, going to star on October 9 and end on October 13.
