Jiban Mahmud is the only son of Shahabuddin Mia of Ward No. 7 of Borhanuddin Upazila of Bhola District. He joined Bangladesh Police Force in 2020 currently working in Barishal. After joining the police, Jiban Mahmud saw the helplessness of the poor people while doing duty on the streets.
Even people lying on the streets have been given houses with the help of his salary and some online well-wishers. So far 44 helpless families have been given tin houses in Bhola and Barishal districts. 53 families have been provided employment through small businesses. At the moment 38 orphans are being paid the education allowance of the orphanage along with food. There are interest free loans for small traders. No deposit or open date is required for this. These interest free loans are available when needed. 19 small traders are currently doing business with interest free loans.
Jiban Mahmud has already given wheelchairs to 35 physically challenged people after starting work with the disabled.
Jiban Mahmud’s teacher Assistant Professor of Hafiz Ibrahim College, Md. Zakaria Azam said, I think Jibon Mahmud’s tendency to stand by people is natural. He used to donate blood to needy people while studying in college.
