Online gambling apps to be banned soon: Palak

The government will stop all the online gambling apps in a bid to protect the nation from false propaganda.
“We will stop online gambling apps 100 per cent. Illegal propaganda on social media is extremely harmful to individuals, institutes and for the state.
The department concerned should have to take strong initiative to stop it at any cost,” State Minister for Post Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak said this to reporters during a visit to the ‘Cyber threat Detention and Response Center’ set up at the headquarters of the Directorate of Telecommunications at Tejgaon in the city on Sunday.
Among others, Secretary of the posts and telecommunications Department Abu Hena Morshed Zaman, additional Secretary Mohammad Golam Sarwar Kaynat, Director General of the Directorate of telecommunications Shafiqul Islam and Director General Shahabuddin Pramukh attended the meeting.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina has given them a new vision to build a smart Bangladesh.
The government laid emphasis on building modern Bangladesh, developing skilled human resources, cashless and paperless society.
He said, how we will implement the Smart Bangladesh vision in the next 17 years, we have to build its foundation in the next 5 years.
Smart Bangladesh has to be built by 2041 based on the four pillars– Smart Citizen, Smart Economy, Smart Society and Smart Government, he said.
