4 dead as picnic bus collides with human haulier

Four people were killed and four injured in a head-on collision between a tourist bus and a Laguna car in Cox’s Bazar. All the injured were passengers of the local Laguna.
The tragic accident took place on Thursday (December 28) around 7:30 am in Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway in Harbang Kalatali area of Chakria.
The 4 deceased are the son of Mostak Ahmed of North Harbang Karamhari neighborhood of Harbang Union of the upazila. Ridwan (34), son of Rashid Ahmed of East Brindavan social neighborhood, Abu Bakkar (30), son of Mozaffar Ahmed of North Harbang Battatali village. Mohiuddin (44) and the social neighborhood of the same union. King’s son Zainal Abedin (35).
Out of the four injured, one seriously has been admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital and three to Lohagra Health Complex. The names of the injured were not available.
Chiringa Highway Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Khokon Kanti Rudra confirmed the casualty in the accident.
He said, in the morning, a tourist bus bound for Cox’s Bazar collided with a lagoon on the opposite side when it reached Chakria North Harbang area of the highway. Four passengers of the Laguna died on the spot. 4 people were injured. The injured have been rescued and sent to the hospital. He also said that the bus and Laguna have been seized. The driver, Helper, fled.
