Hasan bags 2 wickets from 2 balls

Promising pacer of Bangladesh Hasan Mahmud started County Cricket from where he left off with the ball in June this year.

The Tiger speedster bowled like a fireball for Kent in the County Championship on Wednesday.

After losing the toss in Canterbury, Kent were bundled out for 238 runs. In reply, Worcestershire’s two openers started off quite comfortably.

Hasan came on the attack in the sixth over and interrupted that rhythm. He took two wickets in two consecutive balls in one over against Worcestershire.

He bowled out Jack Libby with a brilliant delivery in the first ball of the over.

The Bangladesh pacer trapped leg before wicket Rehan Edwalth in the next ball. Hasan took 2 wickets for 29 runs in 7 overs on the first day (Wednesday).

However, Kent did not see any more wickets after that. At the end of the day, Worcestershire’s total was 80 runs for 2 wickets.

Hasan Mahmud remained unbeaten on 4 off 6 balls towards the end of Kent’s innings, with bat in hand. Kent lost Ben Compton and Jack Crawley for just 18 runs before the pair of Sam Northeast and Tawanda Muyeye took charge.

Later, when Northeast were bowled out for 43, Captain Daniel Bell-Drummond top-scored with 52.

Chris Benjamin made 40. Kent were eventually bowled out for 238. Worcestershire’s Tom Taylor took three wickets.
