Rainfall expected countrywide to lower temperatures

It has been raining since Wednesday night, and further rainfall across Bangladesh will likely result in temperature drops by a couple of degrees, the met office has said, as winter approaches.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy falls at places across the country till 9am on Friday, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in a bulletin on Thursday.

Day and night temperatures may fall by 2-4 degrees Celsius, BSS reports quoting the BMD.

The highest temperature on Wednesday was 33 degrees Celsius in Cox’s Bazar while Thursday’s lowest temperature was 17.6 degrees in Tetulia.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6am on Thursday was recorded at 26mm in Jessore.
