Bangladesh drew with Maldives 1-1 in their away match of the FIFA World Cup (WC) qualifier play-off match at Male, the capital city of Maldives on Thursday.
The first half was locked 0-0.
After the barren first half, Najim of Maldives put his team ahead in the 86th minute of the play.
In the injury time of the second half, Saduddin of Bangladesh leveled the margin by a placing shot using a through pass of his teammate Rakib Hossain.
Bangladesh will take on Maldives in their home match of the FIFA World Cup qualifier on October 17.
If Bangladesh win over Maldives in their home match Bangladesh will move into the next round of the FIFA World Cup qualifier.
If Bangladesh make a goalless draw with Maldives, in that case Bangladesh will reach the next round.
On the other hand, if Bangladesh make draw with Maldives above 1-1 goal margin, Maldives will enter the next round.
If Bangladesh and Maldives make a 1-1 draw in their home match, the qualification will be decided in the tie-breaker.
If Bangladesh can qualify from the play-off stage, Bangladesh will be billed in Group-I with Australia, Palestine and Lebanon in the next round.
