BB, Trust Bank partner under refinancing package

Trust Bank PLC has signed a participation agreement with Bangladesh Bank to support priority sectors under the central bank’s Tk 41,000 crore refinancing package.

Ahsan Zaman Chowdhury, managing director of Trust Bank PLC, and Md Abdul Mannan, director of the Supervisory Data Management and Analytics Department at Bangladesh Bank, signed the agreement at the BB headquarters in Dhaka recently.

Through affordable pre-finance and refinance facilities, the initiative aims to restart closed factories, support CMSMEs, expand agriculture, promote export diversification, develop regional economic hubs and generate employment, according to a media release.

By participating in the initiative, Trust Bank PLC said it is committed to channelling affordable credit into productive sectors and contributing to inclusive growth, employment generation and national economic resilience.

Md Kabir Ahmed and Md Sarwar Hossain, deputy governors of Bangladesh Bank, and Md Zahurul Karim Chowdhury, head of treasury and NRB division at Trust Bank PLC, were also present.
