National Girl Child Day observed in dists

The National Girl Child Day was observed every year in the country on September 30 to show the importance of daughters.
This year’s theme of the day is ‘Investment Priority, Daughter’s Rights’.
The Department of Women Affairs including District Administration in Kishoreganj arranged colour full rally, discussion and awareness campaign marking the day on Saturday.
A discussion meeting held at local Collectorate Conference room on Saturday morning. ADC (General) Rubel Mahamud and Additional SP (Crime & Ops) .
Al -Amiri Hossien were attended as chief and special guests, while Deputy Director (DD) in Women Affairs Mamunur Rashid presided over.
It was addressed among others by Senior Medical Officer of Civil Ooffice dr.Mahabubur Rahman, Senior journalist Alam Sarowar Tito, Mohila Parishad district president advocate Maya Bhowmick, Senior journalist Saiful Haque Mollah Dulu and BRAC Deputy Manager Mujibur Rahman.
ADC (General) Rubel Mahamud said that, due to various government and private measures, the rate of child marriage and taking-dowry has decreased along with the increase in the female education rate in the country.
The investing on girl-child will be the right investment in the coming days as today’s girl child will be able to build an educated family alongside developing her child worthy enough for leading the future world.
Additional SP Al -Amin said, Along with the development of the country’s education, health and infrastructure, the government is working relentlessly for the development of women and girls .
BSS from Bhola adds: The National Girl Child Day was celebrated in the district on Saturday with a view to developing girl children as worthy citizens for building a prosperous Bangladesh.

Marking the day, the district administration and Department of Women Affairs jointly organized the discussing and devising ways and means on how to ensure equal rights to the Girls’ child.
On the occasion of the day, a discussion was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office this morning.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Tamim Al Yamin addressed the function as the chief guest with Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Alamgir Hussain in the chair.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Sabaykunnahar, Additional District Superintendent of Police Ripon Chandra Sarkar, Deputy Director of District Social Services Department Nazrul Islam, District Information Officer Md Nurul Amin, District Child Affairs Officer Md Akhtar Hossain, Journalist Hasnain Ahmed Munna, among others, also spoke.
The officials of various government departments, leaders of registered women’s associations, students of educational institutions, members of youth clubs and parents, among others, were present.
