Body of doctor recovered from Chuadanga

Police recovered the body of a doctor, found hanging from the railing of a bridge in Chuadanga’s Alamdanga early Friday.

The deceased was identified as Touhidul Islam (40) of Dombolpur of the upazila.

Alamdanga Police Station Inspector Ekramul Hossain said the locals found the body hanging from the bridge’s railing and informed police.

“A motorcycle he used and a cap were found lying a short distance away from the bridge.

There are signs of scuffles there. The body will be sent for an autopsy,” said the police official.

According to locals, Touhidul used to return home late after completing his duty.

He was last seen having tea at a tea stall in the village around midnight.

Later, he left the tea stall but did not return home.

The victim’s family and local residents have demanded swift justice for the victim.
