Three floating bodies recovered from Tirnoi river

Floating bodies of a woman and her two minor sons were recovered about 18 hours after they went missing in Ranisankail upazila of Thakurgaon district on Wednesday morning.

The bodies were recovered from Tirnoi river in the Kashipur Kashidanga area of the upazila.

The deceased have been identified as Nasima Begum, 35, wife of one Abdur Rahim of Kashipur village, and her two minor sons -Shawan, 8, and Safayet, 5.

According to locals, “Hands of the three bodies were tied with rope. Some people believe that this could be a case of planned murder.

Gulfamul Islam Mandal, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ranisankail Police Station, confirmed the matter to the media saying that Nasima went missing with her children after a quarrel with her husband on Tuesday evening.

Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered three bodies from the Tirnoi river.

The reason behind their death will be confirmed after investigation, said the OC.

Earlier, her family members filed a general diary (GD) with the police station in this connection, the OC added.
