Jisan Bahini chief killed in Comilla ‘gunfight’

The chief of the notorious terrorist gang, ‘Jisan Bahini’, of Laxmipur was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Putia Bypass in Daudkandi upazila of Comilla district early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Solaiman alias Jisan, 26, son of late Abu Bakar of Latifpur village in sadar upazila of Laxmipur district.
Enamul Haque, sub-inspector of Daudkandi Police Station, said a patrol team of Rab-11 of Narayanganj gave a signal to Jisan to stop while he was going to Laxmipur by his motorcycle around 1:45 am.
Defying the signal, Jisan opened fire at the Rab members forcing them to retaliate, triggering a gunfight.
After a brief gunfight, the Rab members found the body of Jisan lying on the spot.
A pistol, one round of bullet and the motorcycle of Jisan were recovered from the spot. Jisan was wanted in 29 cases, said the SI.
