9 villages declares as child marriage free

Private development organisation World Vision Bangladesh has declared 9 villages free from child marriage in Muktagachha of Mymensingh.
On Thursday afternoon, World Vision Bangladesh Muktagacha in collaboration with Muktagacha upazila administration organised a child marriage free village declaration and celebration ceremony at Zilla Parishad Auditorium.
Chairman of National Human Rights Commission spoke as the chief guest Dr. Kamal Uddin Ahmed.
He said, child marriage ruins the future of our children.
Destroys the health of women and children, destroys their lives.
They have no future.
He also said that today 9 villages in Muktagacha have been declared child marriage free.
Not only 9 villages, all villages should be freed from child marriage.
For this the main task will be awareness raising.
Awareness prevents child marriage.
It is the responsibility of all who are elders and leaders to work together.
Those who are employed by the government should be implemented through the law.
But one thing should be emphasised that the positive actions of the society are not done only by laws.
The administration cannot do anything until you yourselves do these positive things for yourselves.
Mymensingh District Commissioner Md. Mostafizar Rahman He also spoke in the chair, Whole Time Member of National Human Rights Commission Md. Salim Reza, District Police Superintendent Machum Ahmed Bhuya, National Human Rights Commission Deputy Director Sushmita Paik, District Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Upazila Executive Officer AKM Lutfar Rahman and others.
It should be noted that Rudrapur, Bhavki, Nalikhali, Ishwar gram, Mirpur, Hatil, Amodpur, Jhanka and Satrashia villages of the upazila were declared child marriage free.
Later, a special campaign rally to prevent dengue was taken out and circumambulated the main main road.
