Janmastami celebrated with much enthusiasm in dists

Janmashtami, the birth anniversary of Lord Sree Krishna and one of the major festivals of the hindu community was celebrated in Bagerhat district Town and it’s s all the nine Upazilas on Wednesday with due religious fervor and gaiety as else where of the country.
Making the festival the central committee of Bagerhat district Puja Udjapan Parishad arranged an elaborate programme including Geeta Joggo, seeking blessing for the country and the nation in the morning and a lively discussion meeting on the life and works of Lord Sree Krishna in the local Harishava temple and its premises.
In this connection a grand rally that started from Harishava temple paraded the main thoroughfares of the district at noon to mark the Day and ended at the starting point.
Sr. Staff Reporter from Kishoreganj reports: The Hindu Community in Kishoreganj has celebrated Janmashtami marking the birth of Lord Krishna with due religious fervour on Wednesday Different social, cultural and religious organisations have chalked out elaborate programmes to observe the day.
Members of the community brought out a colourfull rally in the town led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md . Abul Kalam Azad and Police Super (SP) Md. Rashel Sheikh PPM (Bar), Trusti senior advocate Bhupendra Bhowmick Dholon, Former Trusti lipu Roy and GP advocate. Bijoy Shankor Roy.
Puja Uddjapon Parishad including Hindu kallan Trust arranged a discussion held at local Kalibari premises, while its president Trusti advocate Bhupendra Bhowmick Dholon in the chair.
Deputy Commissioner Md. Abul Kalam Azad attranted as chief and Police Super (SP) Mohammd Rashel Sheikh PPM (Bar), GP Advocate Bijoy Shankor Roy as special guests.
It was addressed among others by Ex. Trusti lipu Roy, Senior journalist Alam Sarowar Tito, Anil Chandra Pindith mastet and Puja Uddjaoin general secretary Journalist Prodeep Sarker.
The programmes included prayers of Lord Krishna, Puja gathering, Kirtan, Ramayan gaan and recitation from the holy Geeta and the Jagya and distribution of prasad and feeding to the poor seeking divine blessing for the peace and progress of the country.
Netrakona Correspondent says: Janmashtami, one of the major religious festivals of the Hindu community marking the birth day of lord Sree Krishna, was celebrated in Netrakona on Wednesday with pomp and gaiety and due religious fervor.
Different socio-cultural and religious organizations chalked out elaborate programs to celebrate the day.
The programs included recitation from holy Geeta, worshiping of lord Sree Krishna, bringing out of traditional Janmashtami processions, holding of discussion meeting and offering of special prayers for welfare of the nation and the country.
A colorful Janmashtami procession was brought out in the district town in the morning from Norosingho Zior Akra temple under the auspices of district Janmashtami celebration committee.
State Minister for Social Welfare Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru MP, formally led the procession. Deputy Commissioner Shahed Parvez, Chairman of Zila Parishad Asit Kumar Sarker Sazal, Police Super Foyaz Ahmed, Mayor Nazrul Islam Khan joined the procession which paraded the main roads of the Town.
On the occasion, a discussion meeting was held at the conference room of DC office here.
Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru addressed the meeting as chief guest with Deputy Commissioner Shahed Parvez in the chair.
It was addressed, among others, by Chairman of zila parishad Asit Kumar Sarker Sazal, Police Super Netrakona Foaz Ahmed, President of district Awami League (AL) Advocate Amirul Islam, its General Secretary Advocate Shamsur Rahman Liton and Assistant Director of Hindu Religious Welfare Trust Humayun Kabir.
Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru said Bangladesh is the glorious example of religious harmony as the country’s people irrespective of caste, creed and religion have been living together peacefully and performing their respective religious rituals independently.
BSS from Tungipara adds: Hindu community of the district Wednesday celebrated Janmashtami, the holy occasion of birth of Lord Sri Krishna, with due religious fervour by lighting ‘Mongol Prodip’ (sacred lamps).
A colorful procession, led by district unit Awami League President, was brought out from Central Kalibari temple premises and ended there after parading different streets in the town this morning.
Hundreds of devotees joined the procession wearing traditional dresses.
Later, a discussion was held in the temple premises with Vice-president of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) Gopalganj district branch Dr. Ashit Kumar Mallick in the chair.
It was addressed, among others, by Deputy Director of Local Government Division Azharul Islam, Advocate Sunil Kumar Das, Mongol Chandra Biswas and Monindranath Barroi.
Meanwhile, another colourful procession was brought out at Kotalipara town onthe occasion of Sri Krishna’s birth celebration Wednesday morning.
