Biman staff held with 8kg gold

The Armed Police Battalion (APBn) detained an employee of Biman Bangladesh Airlines and recovered 68 gold bars at Hazrat Shahjalal Interna-tional Airport in Dhaka.

The accused has been identified as Shafiqul Islam, 33.

APBn additional police super Md Ziaul Haque confirmed the matter to the media saying that law enforcers detained the employee around 10:00pm on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the gold bars were recovered from his waist belt.

The current market price of the gold is around Tk 7.80 crore, he said.
