AL destroyed Jatiya Party, GM Quader alleges

Staff reporter :
Jatiya Party (JaPa) Chairman GM Quader has alleged that Awami League has destroyed his party after coming to power riding on it.

As a result, Jatiya Party is now absent from the street organizationally though it utters about the street in its slogans. “It’s the reality,” the JaPa Chairman expressed.

GM Quader was speaking as the chief guest at the biennial conference of Bogura District Jatiya Party at Shahid Titu Auditorium in Bogura city on Sunday.

GM Quader observed, a section of people was getting richer day by day through rampant corruption and looting, while the majority of the people were getting poorer day by day.

The country has been facing multifarious problems. So, those problems won’t get resolved if “we sit idle at home,” he said.

Criticising the government, GM Quader said that Bangladesh is not being run on democracy, rather, it is being run on Awamicracy.

“Looting has taken place in every field in the name of development in Bangladesh,” he told the biennial conference.

He also criticised the ongoing by-elections in different parts of the country, saying that if the government had minimum sense of shame, it would not have claimed that a free, fair and impartial election would be held under it.

“Elections are taking place undemocratically. Those who have been struggling for election under an unconstitutional government, we can’t give them support. In the name of struggle, they are vandalizing and destroying people’s property,” said GM Quader.

Meanwhile, With Bogura district JaPa convener Shariful Islam Jinnah in the chair, the biennial conference was also addressed by JaPa co-chairman and former minister Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud MP, and JaPa secretary general Mujibul Huq Chunnu as special guest.
