Habibul Gani new judge of Appellate Division

Justice Md Habibul Gani, a judge of the High Court Division of the Supreme Court, has been appointed as a judge of the Appellate Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court.

The President made the appointment under Article 95(1) of the Constitution.
The Ministry of Law issued a gazette notification on Thursday, August 27, confirming the appointment. It said Justice

Habibul Gani would assume office as an Appellate Division judge from the date he takes oath.

With his appointment, the number of judges in the Appellate Division, including the Chief Justice, has risen to five.

Justice Habibul Gani obtained a Master of Social Science (MSS) and an LLB degree from the University of Chittagong.

He was enrolled as an advocate of the district courts on April 3, 1989, and of the High Court Division on April 11, 1992.

He was appointed as an additional judge of the High Court Division on April 18, 2010, and became a permanent judge on April 15, 2012.
