Diarrhoea in Kishoreganj, One die, 120 admitted to hospitals

The spread of diarrhoea has sharply increased in Kishoreganj. Since Eid-ul-Azha, the number of diarrhoea patients has increased in the district. At present, at least 120 people are admitted to different hospitals of the district due to diarrhoea.
Besides, one person died of diarrhea on Tuesday. 10 new patients were admitted to Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital( SNIMCH) from Wednesday night to Thursday due to diarrhea.
According to the Civil Surgeon’s (CS) office, 98 patients with diarrhea are currently receiving treatment in 14 government hospitals of 13 upazilas of the district .Among them, 28 people are admitted in Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital (SNIMCH), 33 people in Kishoreganj 250 Bed General Hospital and 37 people are admitted to other hospitals.
Director of Shaheed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital (SNIMCH) Dr.. Helal Uddin said, doctor-nurse are worfing to treat patients suffering from diarrhoea. The hospital has enough saline and medicine. The number of doctors and nurses for diarrhea patients has been increased. A total of 28 patients are currently admitted in the 24-bed diarrhea ward.
Civil Surgeon CS) in Kishoreganj, Dr. Saiful Islam told The New Nation that, the outbreak of diarrhoea has not yet occurred. Diarrhea is still under control in the district. 98 patients of are now admitted to diarrhea different hospitals of the district. Hospitals have adequate stock of cholera saline, food saline and other essential medicines.
