2 jungle pirates arrested

Two Jungle pirates were arrested by the DB police of Bagerhat after conducting raids in the Eastern Division of Sundarbans (in Bagerhat district) at last Monday mid night. At that time according to the information given by them (jungle pirates), police raided the different places in the interior of Sandaracs and recovered arms and ammunitions.
The arrested jungle pirates are Ismmail Hossain (35), son of one Joynal Sardar hails from Sharankhola Upazila in Bagerhat district and Rejaul Munshi (32), son of one Ashraf Ali Munshi hails from the same area.
This was disclosed by K M Ariful Haq, Police Super of Bagerhat in a press briefing held in his office room on Tuesday.
The Police Super told, after making Sundarbans free from the jungle pirates some new jungle pirates raised their heads in the forest, kidnapped some fishermen from the forest and demanded ransom. So, in order to subdue the pirates police became more vigilant and kept their eyes on Sundarbans and its adjacent areas. As a part of the matter police conducted raids in the adjacent (human habitations) areas and arrested two jungle pirates and according to their (jungle pirates) statement, police raided in the deep forest of Sundarbans and recovered 3 single barrel guns, 10 rounds of life cartridges, 2 big knives (known as Daa), 1 hammer, a device used to blast crackers and an umbrella from the eastern bank of the river Pathuria under Sharankhola Forest Range at the same night.
In this connection a case was lodged with Sharankhola PS and the arrested jungle pirates were sent to the Jail hajat through the court.
