AB Bank joins with BB to CMSME working capital

AB Bank PLC signed an agreement with Bangladesh Bank to disburse loans at low interest rates and easy terms under the Tk. 5,000 crore Working Capital Refinance Fund for the CMSME sector.
The signing ceremony took place on Tuesday at the A. N. Hamidullah Conference Room of Bangladesh Bank’s Head Office. Md. Zabdul Islam, Director of the SME & Special Programmes Department of Bangladesh Bank and Z. M. Babar Khan, Managing Director (Current Charge) of AB Bank PLC signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
Md. Anis Ur Rahman, Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank graced the occasion as the chief guest. Nahid Rahman, Executive Director and Ms. ShahanajPervin, Additional Director of Bangladesh Bank were also present at the program.
along with Md. Arijul Islam Mollick, Head of SME and other senior officials from Bangladesh Bank were also present at the program.
Bangladesh Bank formed this fund under the Tk. 60,000 crore stimulus package to revitalize the sluggish economy by generating direct and indirect employment as well as enhancing the capacity of CMSME enterprises to operate at full scale in production, service and business activities through the provision of essential working capital loans/investments.
