A fire broke out in an eight storey building in Adabar area of Mohammadpur in the capital on Sunday was brought under control after around one and a half hours.
The fire started around 12pm in the basement of the eight-storey building on Road no.10 in the area.
Media Officer Anwarul Islam from the Fire Service Headquarters confirmed the matter to the media saying that on information, seven units of the fire service rushed to the spot to control the fire.
Three people including two women were rescued from the building. No casualties were reported till Saturday afternoon.
The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately. The cause of the fire and the amount of damage will be reported after the investigation, Anwarul Islam added.
