Ex-edn Minister Majeed Khan passes away

Former Education and Planning Minister Dr A Majeed Khan died of old age complications while undergoing treatment at a city hospital on Wednesday.
He was 94.

Dr Khan was serving as the president of the Executive Board of Bangladesh Center for Communication Programs (BCCP) until his demise.

He dedicated his life to the cause of social development, particularly to expand education among the mass people.s

Born on July 01, 1929 in Faridpur, Dr Khan was educated in Kolkata, London and Minnesota in the USA, reports BSS.

Throughout his life, he held several important positions at home and abroad.

Former education minister and planning minister Dr Khan earlier served as Ambassador of Bangladesh to France, Spain and Morocco. He was a Senior Director to UNDP and a member of the Executive Board and Permanent Representative to the UNESCO.

His Namaz-e-Janaza will be held at the Baridhara Jame Mosque and Islamic Center after the Jumma Prayers today.
