Meghna Bank joins Tk3,000cr agri refinance scheme
Meghna Bank PLC has signed an agreement with Bangladesh Bank to participate in its Tk3,000 crore refinance scheme.
The scheme aims to increase agricultural production and develop agriculture-based economic hubs in the country’s northern region.
According to a press release, the scheme will support the preservation, transportation, marketing, processing, and export of agricultural products, as well as the development of agriculture-based cottage, micro, small, and medium enterprises (CMSMEs).
Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank Dr Md Kabir Ahmed chaired the signing ceremony.
Senior officials from both organisations were also present.
Director of Agricultural Credit Department-2 at Bangladesh Bank AKM Saiduzzaman and Senior Executive Vice President and Head of SME Banking Division at Meghna Bank Mohammad Sohel Miah signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.
Executive Director and Spokesperson of Bangladesh Bank Arief Hossain Khan and Head of Branch SME and Agri Banking at Meghna Bank Md Shahabuddin attended the event as invited guests.
