Youth gets life term for rape in Kishoreganj

A tribunal in Kishoreganj on Thursday sentenced a youth to life term imprisonment in connection with a case for a girl rape in Karimganj upazila of the district.
The Special Judge (District Judge) of Women and Child Torture Prevention Tribunal-1 , Mohammad Habibullah announced the verdict in the presence of the accused and also fined Tk 150,000 .
The convicted is Shafiqul Islam (34), son of Deen Islam, at Pitua. village in Karimganj upazila.
Special PP Advocate M. A Afzal of the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Tribunal confirmed this.
