DNCC Admin, MP attacked
An attack has been alleged on Md. Shafiqul Islam Khan, Administrator of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), and S.M. Jahangir Hossain, MP for Dhaka-18, in Uttarkhan, in the capital. DNCC alleges they were attacked while visiting the site of an earlier attack on city corporation cleaning workers in the area.
The incident occurred Sunday during an inspection of a DNCC secondary transfer station (STS) in the Rajabari area of Uttarkhan.

According to a press release from DNCC, the administrator and other officials went to inspect the attack site at the STS in Rajabari, Ward 46, accompanied by local police.
Following Sunday morning’s incident, when the administrator, MP, the local police station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC), and other police members went to inspect the site, an argument broke out between cleaning workers and representatives of the garment factory’s ownership. The situation reportedly turned violent, and the press release claims that “hired criminals” present at the scene then attacked the administrator and MP.
According to DNCC, police detained three people, including one from the factory’s ownership.
After bringing the situation under control, police conducted an operation in the area. The DNCC administrator and MP later visited Kuwait Bangladesh Moitree Government Hospital in Uttara to check on the injured cleaning workers.
The press release further stated that the administrator said strict legal action would be taken against those involved in the attack.
