Bangabandhu’s birthday observed in different districts

Many events were organized in Manikganj on the occasion of the birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day on Friday (March 17).
To celebrate the day, the Shivalay Upazila Administration organized wreath laying, cake cutting and discussion meeting and cultural programmes on the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Shibaloy Upazila Chairman Bir Muktijoddha Rezaur Rahman Khan Janu was the chief guest. Under the chairmanship of Shibaloy UNO Md. Zahidur Rahman, Shibaloy Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Anichur Rahman Khan, Upazila Agriculture Officer Mohammad Riazur Rahman, Upazila Vice Chairman Miraj Hossain Lalon Fakir, Runa Akhtar, Upazila Awami League General Secretary MA Quddus, among others, spoke.
On the occasion of the day, Upazila Youth Development Directorate gave loan checks to 3 youths in the same event. Upazila Youth Development Officer. Matiar Rahman and all the officers and employees of the department were present.
Besides, Islamic Foundation organized Kerat, Hamad-Naat, Kavita Abriti, Bangabandhu’s 7th March speech and Islamic music competition in Upazila Model Mosque on the occasion of the day. Students from different educational institutions and Sahaj Quran Education Center of Shivaloy Upazila participated.
On the other hand, the private development research institute organizes various programs jointly with local organizations at the Barsik and community level, keeping in front of this motto “Bangabandhu’s birthday in the dream of Smart Bangladesh, children’s eyes are colored with the dream of prosperity”.
On the occasion of the birthday of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day on March 17, an exhibition of unique folk crafts was held at Sholkura village of Baniajuri union of Manikganj Ghior upazila.
Senior Staff Reporter from Rangpur says: The 103rd birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was celebrated on Friday through various programmes in Rangpur. On this occasion, a discussion meeting was held in the Town Hall Square on Friday morning. District Commissioner Sabirul Islam was the chief guest at the event under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Chitra Ketta Naznin. Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Noore Alam Meena, Rangpur Range Additional DIG Mizanur Rahman, District Superintendent of Police Ferdous Ali Chowdhury, Zilla Parishad Chairman Bir Muktijoddha Mosaddek Hossain Bablu were special guests.
At the end, prizes were distributed among the winners of various competitions for children and cultural programme was also held . Earlier in the morning, the national flag was hoisted at all government and private offices and buildings. Later, wreaths were placed on Bangabandhu’s mural at the DC intersection by departmental and district administration, police administration, city corporation, including various government, autonomous institutions, officials of government and private departments, political and socio-cultural organizations and educational institutions. Later, a guard of honor was given to all the martyrs by the police administration. After this, a procession was taken out on behalf of these institutions on the main road of the city.
Sr. Staff Reporter from Kishoreganj reports: The 103 rd birth anniversary of Father of Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day was observed in Kishoreganj Sadar and upaziles of the district on Friday with due respect.
Kishoreganj, District Administration, ruling Awami League, JSD, Ganatantree Party and many Social-cultural organisation chalked out celebrate the programmes to marking the Day.
A discussion meeting was arranged by District Administration at Local Art Council Hall on Friday evening.
Deputy Commissioner( DC) Md. Abul Kalam Azad attended as chief guest and Police Super( SP) Mohammad Rasel Sheikh PPM (Bar) , Zila Parishad chairman Advocate Zillur Rahman, Mayor Mahamud Pervez and Ganatantree Party Presidium member Advocate Bhupendra Bhowmick Dholon were special guests.
Ishwardi (Pabna) Correspondent says: The 103rd birthday of the Father of the Nation and the National Children’s Day were celebrated with a colorful programme organized by the Sports Hall. To celebrate the day, a children’s rally was held on Friday afternoon at Dakbungalow grounds.
 Khelghar’s Adviser and Awami League leader Barrister Syed Ali Jiru inaugurated it. The chief guest was the chairman of Zilla Parishad, freedom fighter Abdur Rahim Pakon. President of Upazila Awami League heroic freedom fighter Alhaj Naib Ali Biswas, general secretary and former mayor Abul Kalam Azad Mintu, Vice Chairman of upazila Abdus Salam Khan, member of Zilla Parishad Ratan Mahaldar, former president of press club Swapan Kumar Kundu along with teachers, journalists and elite were present on the occasion.
Borhanuddin (Bhola) Correspondent reports: School dresses have been distributed among about 200 poor students of Borhanuddin Girls Secondary School and Municipal Primary School in Borhanuddin Upazila in, Bhola. On the occasion of the 103rd birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Friday, the Mayor of Borhanuddin Municipality held a discussion meeting and dress distribution ceremony at the Municipal Auditorium on National Children’s Day Rafiqul Islam was present as the chief guest and handed over the dress to the students.
Gouripur (Mymensingh) Correspondent adds: The 103rd birth day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children’s Day was observed in a befitting manner on Friday in Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh district. On this occasion elaborated programmes have been chalked out which included rally, placing floral wreaths, children’s’ beautiful hand writing & essay writing competition. Milad-Doa Mahfil, free medical camp. Apart from the ruling Awami League (AL) Gouripur upazila unit and its front and associated bodies, different political, socio-cultural and educational organisations chalked out elaborate programmes to observe the Day, which is also the National Children Day, with due respect and in festive mood.
Freedom Fighter Nazim Uddin Ahmed MP, Upazila Chairman Mofazzal Hossain khan, Fouzia Naznin ,UNO of Gouripur Upazila , Gouripur municipality Mayor Syed Rafiqul Islam , Upazila AL President Nilofa Anzom Popi, Sectrary Sumnath Saha, councilors of Gouripur Pourashava, other officials of the upazila administration, the police department, representatives of public, heads of schools, colleges, madrasas, and representatives of socio cultural organizations paid wreaths on the portrait of Bangabandhu respectively on at Bangabandhu Chattar of the upazila town around 10:00 am.
