Bangladesh will take on England in the first Twenty20 International (T20I) match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium (ZACS) in Chattogram today. The match will start at 3.00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). Private satellite channel GTV and private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the match live from the venue.
Before today’s match, Bangladesh and England faced each other in only one T20I match. England won the game by eight wickets.
After winning the third One Day International (ODI) match against England, Head Coach of Bangladesh Cricket team Chandika Hathurusingha said, ” I am not a magician. I cannot present the future picture. But we shall try to win the T20I match against England.”
Chandika said, ” I am looking for the performance of my boys. I hope the players will perform according to our expectations. My boys have got a chance to prove their ability to perform against the world champions in the international level. It is a great chance to show their capability in T20I cricket against the world champions.”
It may be mentioned that the next ICC T20 World Cup will be held in the United States of America and West Indies. The T20 World Cup is being held one year after one year. To take preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup is a tough task. But Hathurusingha said, ” I don’t think to take preparation for the T20 World Cup is a hard thing. We have to take preparation from now. We know where the next World Cup will be held. I visited West Indies. I know very well about the conditions of Caribbean Islands. We have to find out the proper combination. In this process, there is an opportunity to judge the performance of our players.”
The Lankan-born coach said, ” I don’t want to play any hide-and-sick game. We know what we can do. I hope my boys will show a satisfactory performance against the world champions. They have to find out how they will perform against England.” ” It is a question that either England or we are better in our conditions. It is a great chance to show our skill in T20I cricket against England”, he added.
