‘Kura Pokkhir Shunnye Ura’ wins Best Film at 3rd Bangladesh Film Festival

The third edition of Bangladesh Film Festival 2023 came to a close last Friday at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in the
capital’s Segun Bagicha area.
The 15-day-long film festival
honoured seven film personas
as the ‘Best’ in seven categories, which included Best Film, Best Director, Special Jury Award, Best Cinematographer, Best Editor,
Best Sound Designer and Best Production Planner.
Just like the inauguration of the festival, the closing ceremony was also hosted by Director General
of BSA, Liaquat Ali Lucky.
The State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid attended the
ceremony as the chief guest. Meanwhile, noted filmmakers Syed Salahuddin Zaki and Masihuddin Shaker were also present as special guests on the occasion.
The list of seven winners who took home the best award
from the programme:
The Best Film Award: ‘Kura Pokkhir Shunnye Ura’ (The Golden Wings of Watercocks).
Best Director Award: Nurul Alam Atique (‘Laal Moroger Jhuti’).
Special Jury Award: Rezwan Shahriar Sumit (‘Nonajoler Kabbyo’).
Best Cinematographer:
Syed Kashef Shahbazi (‘Chondraboti Kotha’)
Best Editor: Sujan Mahmud (‘Made in Bangladesh’)
Best Sound Designer: Ripon Nath (‘Fagun Haway’)
Best Production Planner: Khandaker Sumon (‘Saatao’).
