Noted music composer Anwar Jahan Nantu dies

Popular playback song titled ‘Tumi Amar Moner Majhi’ famed noted composer and music director, Anwar Jahan Nantu passed away. He died around 3:00am
on Monday. He was 78.
The noted music composer was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital. He was suffering from liver cirrhosis.
Nantu was brother of noted filmmaker Delwar Jahan Jhontu.
Noted playwright and director Sagor Jahan, also son of Anwar Jahan Nantu, confirmed the news yesterday. He told the media, “Please pray for my father. His death was due to old age complications.” His namaj-e-zanaza was held at after Johr prayers at Boro Mogbazar Mosque. It is noted that Anwar Jahan Nantu gifted the music industry with numerous timeless hit songs including ‘Premer Somadhi Bhenge,’ ‘Chokher Jole Ami,’ ‘Tumi Doob Diona,’ amongst others. He presented more than 200 playbacks for movies.
