Sheikh Kamal 2nd Bangladesh Youth Games begins today

Sheikh Kamal 2nd Bangladesh Youth Games will begin today at the 495 upazilas across the country. The Under-17 boys and girls will compete in the Bangladesh Youth Games. The first phase (upazila level ) of the Games will come to an end on January 10.
Earlier, President of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) and Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed unveiled the logo and mascot of the Games at the Army Multipurpose Complex in Dhaka Cantonment on December 23.
Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina is the Chief Patron of Sheikh Kamal 2nd Bangladesh Youth Games, while Minister for Finance AHM Mustafa Kamal is the Chairman of the Games. They are involved the committee to run the Games smoothly. A total of 14 sub-committees have been formed. A total of 60 thousand sports personalities (including players, coach, organizers) will participate in the Games.
In the first edition, which was held in 2018, there were 21 disciplines. This year there are 24 disciplines. Cycling, Rugby and Gymnastics have been included in this year’s Bangladesh Youth Games.
The final phase will be held in Dhaka from February 26 to March 4. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the final round at Bangladesh Army Stadium in the city’s Banani as the chief guest.
There are 429 gold medals, 429 silver medals and 561 bronze medals in 24 disciplines.
