Changes in lifestyle emphasised to control the disease

The World Diabetes Day was observed in the country on Monday as elsewhere in the globe in a befitting manner to make the people aware about the disease.
This year’s theme : ‘Education to protect tomorrow’.
In Kishoreganj, The Civil Surgeon( CS) Office, Diabetes Association, President Abdul Hamid Medical College Hospital, Kishoreganj 25O- beded hospital arranged various programmes likes ralles, discussion, awareness campaign, postering, and handbills distribution marking the World Diabetes Day on Monday.
A discussion meeting arranged Kishoreganj 250 beded hospital at its Conference Hall on Monday noon.
Deputy Director (DD) & Superrantant in Kishoreganj General Hospital Dr.Md.Helaluddin presided over the discussion.
It was addressed among others by Assistant Director (AD) dr.Noor Md.Shamsul Alam, Medicine Specilist Dr. Mostafa Faysal, Child Specilist Dr.Subir Nandhi, and Residential Medical Officer (RM0) Dr.Md.Maksudur Rahman.

He said the prevalence of diabetes is increasing day by day due to urbanization, changes in lifestyle and food habit and lack of physical labour and everyone to know the ways to prevent and control diabetes.
The number of diabetic patients is now about 53 crore across the world, which would increase to 64 crore by 2030.
Due to diabetes, the number of diseases related to heart disease, brain hemorrhage kidney and eye diseases are increasing in human body, dr.Helaluddin added..
Diabetes Association of Kishoreganj has arranged a discussion meeting and a colour full rally brought out in the town on Monday morning.

Kapasia Upazila Diabetic Association held a procession and discussion meeting at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Square on the occasion of this day on Monday.

Nandail (Mymensingh) Correspondent says: The Third General Meeting ( AGM) and discussion meeting was held on the occasion of World Diabetes Day in Nandail under the chairmanship of freedom fighter Commander Mazharul Hoque Fakir and moderated by General Secretary Advocate Habibur Rahman Fakir on the theme : know Diabetes for future protection .
