Nepal defender Bimala joins Rajshahi Stars

Nepalese defender Bimala BK has arrived in the capital on Tuesday to join Bangladesh Women’s Football League champions Rajshahi Stars FC for their historic AFC Women’s Champions League campaign.

Bimala was received at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by Rajshahi Stars’ team manager and assistant coach.

She is returning to the club for a second spell and said she was proud to have the opportunity to represent Rajshahi and Bangladesh in one of Asia’s biggest women’s club competitions.

“I am happy to be playing for Rajshahi for the second time.
I am even more excited to play in the AFC competition.

It’s great honour to compete on such a big stage, especially as Rajshahi and Bangladesh are appearing in the competition for the first time,” Bimala said.

Despite the limited preparation time and respecting the strength of opponents, she has expressed her firm determination to give her best in the match.

“We don’t take our opponents lightly, but that does not mean we are weak either. We want to win every match, become group champions and advance to the next round. We need your support for that,” said the Nepalese defender.
