Computer training course ends

The closing ceremony of free basic computer training course for marginalized groups was held at Dalgram Union Parishad premises in Kaliganj upazila on Monday. The training was organized by Profit Foundation, Information and Communication Technology Department collaboration, Lalmonirhat Deputy Commissioner Md. Abu Zafar was the chief guest at the event. PF Executive Director Md. Nuruzzaman Ahmed chaired as special guest, Kaliganj Upazila District Officer Md. Abdul Mannan, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ishrat Jahan Chani, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md. Ferdous Ahmed. Dalgram Union Parishad Chairman Md Iqbal Hossain, Reporters Club President Mokhleshur Rahman Tuku, computer trainee Sanjida Lipi and others spoke in the discussion meeting. In this, 200 computer trainees successfully received training under the basic IT of the marginal population in the 6-month free basic computer training course.
BOU School of Business launched new LMS

As a part of the blended Learning initiative of Bangladesh Open University (BOU), BOU launches a newly designed LMS for it’s School of Business on Monday. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Syed Humayun Akhter launched the new LMS at the e-learning Center of BOU. At that moment, Pro Vice Chancellor (administration) Professor Dr. Nasim Banu, Pro Vice Chancellor (accademic) Professor Dr. Mahbuba Nasreen, Treasurer and Dean of School of Business Prof Mostafa Azad Kamal were present there. This software has been designed and developed for scaling up the school of business courses. The LMS has been designed and developed with the support Commonwealth of Learning (COL) with the consultancy support by Sabbir Hossain. Treasurer and Dean of Business School Prof. Mostafa Azad Kamal, who was the coordinator and instructional designer in the project, mentioned that the LMS has been designed for offering the regular business courses and also for offering the skill courses throughout the nation. He mentioned anybody from anywhere will be able to join the courses via LMS. He also indicated that business school will use this LMS to offer Skill based MOOCs to prepare our learners for the 4th Industrial age.
Two policemen injured in attack during drive in Wazirpur

Two policemen were injured in the attack during drive to arrest a wanted accused in Wazirpur of Barishal on Sunday. to arrest the accused
OC (Investigation) of Wazirpur Police Station Zafar Ahmed said on Sunday morning, based on secret information, ASI Farooq Hossain and Constable Masud of Wazirpur Police Station conducted an operation to arrest the accused Swapan Hawladar (32), son of the accused Hamid Howalder, in Dhamsar area of Mundpasha village of Shikarpur Union, under the warrant of a case of Sessions and Judge Court.
After detaining arrested the accused Swapan from the paddy field of a bill in the village of Atipara. Besides, there are various charges against the accused Swapan including bank robbery.
Some time after the arrest, accused tried to run away by hitting ASI Farooq on the head and severely injuring constable Masood.
Police chasing him and arrested again the accused with injury at the help of locals. Locals rescued the injured accused and policemen to Wazirpur Health Complex.
ASI Farooq, who was injured in the incident, filed a case at Wazirpur Police Station as the plaintiff in connection of injuring the law enforcers.
