Zilla Parishad Election

Awami League rebel candidate Mosaddek Hossain Bablu won by 601 votes in Rangpur Zilla Parishad election. His nearest rival Awami League candidate Ilyas Ahmed got 484 votes. After the counting of votes on Monday afternoon, in the private results, he won the Mosaddek Hossain Bablu motorcycle symbol. Meanwhile, his rival Mosaddek Hossain Bablu was the adviser and joint convener of Rangpur Awami League. He was the District Commander of Mukti Jodha Sangsad Command for 12 years. Apart from this, he was the President of Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Director of FBCCI.
A total of 11 people were elected as members and general members in the Rangpur District Parishad elections. They are Mominur Islam in Ward No. 1, Altab Hossain in Ward No. 2, Abdul Hannan in Ward No. 3, Mocha: Parveen Akhter in Ward No. 4, Atiyar Rahman in Ward No. 5, Mamtaz Hossain in Ward No. 6, Samrat Mamun Pasha in Ward No. 7 and Mizanur Rahman Mizan in Ward No. 8. .
Khyant Rani Roy was also elected in Ward No. 1, Laila Ruji in Ward No. 2 and Afroja Khatun in Ward No. 3.
Rangpur Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Asib Ahsan officially announced the results after selecting them on Monday afternoon. 1 thousand 95 representatives of one city corporation, three municipalities, eight upazila parishads and 76 union parishads exercised their voting rights in Rangpur Zilla Parishad elections.
Nilphamari Correspondent reports: On the occasion of Nilphamari Zilla Parishad Election Awami League candidate District Awami League General Secretary and Nilphamari District Layers Association President Adv Momtazul Haque has been elected Nilphamari Zilla Parishad Chairman by getting 534 votes. His closest rival, independent candidate and former Zilla Parishad Chairman Zainal Abedin on the motorcycle symbol got 318 votes.
Manikganj Correspondent says: Awami League party candidate Adv Golam Mohiuddin was re-elected in the Manikganj Zilla Parishad election on Monday (October 17) amid great enthusiasm and intense competition by getting 452 votes. His rival Advocate Bajlul Haque Khan was defeated by 27 votes.
889 out of 894 voters voted in 65 unions, seven upazilas and two municipalities in the district.
Nazma Akhtar (Shibalaya-Ghior-Daulatpur), FM Ripon Akhtar (Harirampur-Singair) and Shaheen Afroz (Sadar-Saturia) elected the women members reserved for the election. Nazma Akhtar was elected for the 2nd time.
Besides, upazila-based general members MA Quddus BA (Shibalaya), Mahbubur Rahman Johnny (Ghior), Md. Abul Bashar (Sadar), Md. Razzak Hossain Raj (Saturia), Shafiqul Islam (Daulatpur), Tamiz Uddin (Singair) and Md. Hyder Ali Tarek (Harirampur) won. MA Quddus BA was elected in the 2nd round.
Kapasia (Gazipur) Correspondent reports: In the Gazipur Zila Parishad election, Awami League’s nominated candidate, former president of the Central Farmers’ League, Motahar Hossain Molla (motorcycle symbol) has won the post of chairman by getting 329 votes. His closest rival former Joint General Secretary of Metropolitan Awami League rebel candidate (expelled from the party) SM Moksed Alam got 294 votes in pineapple symbol.
The total number of voters in this election was 636. Among them, 627 people exercised their right to vote. 3 candidates contested for the post of chairman in the election. The other candidate Md. Samsuddin Khandkar got 3 votes. Polling was conducted peacefully on Monday from 9 am to 2 pm. Voters exercised their right to vote with great enthusiasm in the elections.
Nandail (Mymensingh) Correspondent says: Md Abu Bakkar Siddique Bahar was re elected as a member of Mymensingh Zilla Parishad election after getting 91 votes in ward No.11 Nandail. Lecturer kaisarul Alam Fakir came second by getting 57 votes and Abu Naeem Bhuiyan got 34 votes.
185 voters cast their votes in an informal atmosphere using the EVM system on Monday. Upazila Agriculture officer Md.Anisuzzaman served as presiding officer. Upazila Election officer Md. Fakrujjaman said we were able to complete the election with the cooperation of everyone in a free fair and peaceful environment.
Bhuapur (Tangail) Correspondent adds: The Tangail Zilla Parishad Elections ended peacefully with great enthusiasm on Monday. The polling was continued from 9 am to 2 pm without a break.
Tofazzal Hossain from Dhanbari, SM Rafiqul Islam from Gopalpur, Khairul Islam from Bhuyapur, Roknuzzaman Thandu from Ghatail, Ayanal Haque from Kalihati, Masurul Islam from Tangail Sadar, Mosharf Hossain from Delduar, Shahidul Islam from Nagarpur, Nasir Khan from Basail, Anwar Hossain Talukdar from Sakhipur and Taherul Islam from Mirzapur were elected as members.
Mahmuda Begum (Dhanbari, Madhupur, Gopalpur), Razia Siddiqui (Ghatail, Kalihati, Bhuyapur), Shimu Khan (Sadar, Nagarpur, Delduar) and Khaleda Siddiqui (Mirzapur, Basail, Sakhipur) won the reserved women’s posts.
However, Fazlur Rahman Khan as Chairman of Tangail Zilla Parishad and Khandkar Shafiuddin Moni as Member of Madhupur were elected unopposed.
