4 killed in Gazipur road crash

Four persons were killed when a passenger’s bus rammed a parked van on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Telipara area in Bason thana of Gazipur on Saturday morning.
Of the deceased, three were identified as Borhan Uddin, 40, son of one Abdul Kuddus from Harinakanda village in Phulpur upazila,
Younus Ali, 35, son of one Abdul Hamid from Swadeshi area in Haluaghat upazila and Sohrab hossain, son of one Nannu Miah of Gazipur.
Md Alamgir Hosen, Deputy Commissioner (DC-traffic) of Gazipur Metropolitan Police, said a bus of Basumoti Paribahan hit a parked fish-laden van around 8:30am in the area, leaving four of them dead on the spot.
The bodies were sent to the morgue of Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital in Gazipur for autopsy, he also said.
Khasru Khan, Officer-in-charge (OC) of Bason Police Station, said they seized the bus but its driver managed to flee away. Legal action is under process in this regard.
