BotTala’s children’s new play ‘Dakat Halum Chitpotang’ staged
The new play titled ‘Dakat Halum Chitpotang’ by the children’s department of drama troupe BotTala came on stage.
The play was performed at the Neelima Ibrahim Auditorium of the Bangladesh Mahila Samity on Saturday evening.
It was performed at the closing ceremony of an acting training for the children.
BotTala says that the sixth edition of the ‘four-month-long’ drama workshop titled ‘Obhinoye Hatekhori’ for children under their acting school Actors Studio ended on June 6.
After six months of training and rehearsals, the children performed the inaugural performance of the play ‘Dakat Halum Chitpotang’ at the closing ceremony organised at Neelima Ibrahim Auditorium of Bangladesh Mahila Samity.
An adaptation of German author Otfried Preußler’s classic children’s book ‘The Robber Hotzenplotz’, the play ‘Dakat Halum Chitpotang’ was translated and adapted for the stage by Shammi Akhter, and directed and designed by Humayun Azam Rewaz.
At the end of the exhibition, certificates and gifts were presented to the children by Bangladesh’s eighth Everest winner Nurunnahar Nimmi, Ironman Mohammad Shamsuzzaman Arafat, writer and researcher Kazi Sameeo Sheesh, poet and teacher Shakira Parvin Suma, BotTala founding member Mizanur Rahman, and artiste Layeqa Bashir, a member of the BotTala board of directors, said a press release.
