Man dies after being pushed off running bus at Jatrabari

A man was allegedly killed after pushed off from a moving passenger bus by the helper following an argument over fare in the capital’s Jatrabari area on Saturday.
The victim was identified as Abdul Sayem Murad, 35.
After the incident, the youth was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where duty doctors declared him dead.
According to deceased’s family, “Murad was working in a buying house company at Motijheel. He left Motijheel by a passenger bus name No. 8 bus for his residence in Jatrabari.
Helper Mohan Miah and driver Shah Alam beat him up and pushed off the bus as soon as it reached Shaheed Farooq Road at Jatrabari. His head was crushed under the wheels of the moving bus.
Ashraful Islam, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Jatrabari Police Station confirmed the matter to the media, saying that “We immediately went to the spot after getting the information and found that the bus was set on fire. People were beating the driver and the helper. They were rescued and brought to DMCH where they are currently receiving treatment. The bus was taken to the police station. A case will be filed against the driver and the helper.
Murad’s body has been kept at DMCH morgue for autopsy, the SI said.
