Customs officials have detained two airways passengers from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital along with 3kg gold.
The detainees are identified as Md Suman,41, and Amin Ar-Rashid, 21. Both of them, hailing from Brahmanbaria, came from Dubai Friday night.
In a joint drive of Customs, APBN and NSI arrested them from the Dhaka airport early Saturday.
According to the Customs officials, based on secret information from APBN, members of preventive team conducted a drive around 11:30 pm on Friday. The team members challenged the two passengers and seized four gold bars (464gm) and gold ornaments (196gm) from their possessions.
According to the official, the net worth of the seized gold is approximately 2.50 crore taka.
This is an incident of gold smuggling on Saturday, hours after BGB seized 5kg gold from smugglers in Sharsha of Jashore Friday night.
