BD lose to Pakistan in Women’s T20 Asia Cup

Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team lost to Pakistan Women’s Cricket team by nine wickets in their group match of the Women’s T20 Asia Cup at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Academy Ground in Sylhet on Monday.
Sent into bat first, Bangladesh scored 70 for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
In reply, Pakistan reached the winning target making 72 for the loss of one wicket when they had 46 balls to spare.
Bangladesh faced a disaster as they lost their early four wickets for 27 runs.
Then, they failed to build any notable partnership.
Salma Khatun, Nigar Sultana and Lata Mondal were the three Bangladesh batters who could reach the double digit figures.
Salma Khatun remained unbeaten with 24 runs. Her 29-ball innings saw two fours.
Nigar Sultana made 17 from 30 balls featuring two fours, while Lata Mondal scored 12 from 19 balls including one four.
Diana Baig, Nida Dar bagged two wickets each instead of 11 and 19 runs respectively.
Omaima Sohali and Sadia Iqbal took one wicket each for four and 10 runs respectively.
Pakistan had a good start as openers Muneeba Ali and Sidra Ameen put on together 49 runs in the opening stand before Muneeba Ali was caught behind by wicketkeeper Shamima Sultana off Salma Khatun.
Then, Sidra Ameen and Bismah Maroof helped their team to overhaul the winning target.
Sidra Ameen remained unbeaten with 36 runs. Her 35-ball knock had four fours. Sidra Ameen was adjudged the Player of the Match.
Muneeba Ali made 14 runs from 19 deliveries including one four.
Bismah Maroof remained unbeaten with 12 runs. She hit one four in her 20-ball knock.
Salma Khatun took one wicket for 27 runs.
