Workshop on TB held in Rangamati

An orientation workshop on the control of Tuberculosis (TB) was held at the conference room of Rangamati District Civil Surgeon office on Saturday. It was arranged by National Anti-Tuberculosis Association of Bangladesh (NATAB), Rangamati branch.
Civil Surgeon of Rangamati Dr Snaho Kanti Chakma was chief guest at the workshop while Vice-President of NATAB, Rangamati A. K. M. Maqsud Ahamed chaired it. NATAB Secretary Shajahan Mojumder, and President of Imam Samity Abdul Jalil Sarkar spoke at the workshop. Dr. Shusovon Dewan, Consaltant of TB Hospital, Rangamati presented the keynote paper on the condition of TB in Bangladesh’s context.
The speakers informed that every year total 51 TB affected patients per lakh die, while 100 new are attacked with TB each year.
Total 30 religious leaders (imam) attended the workshop.
