Habiganj Correspondent :
The workers from 23 tea gardens in Habiganj took to the streets once again on Sunday, refusing the raised wage by Tk 25 to Tk 145 per day.
They gathered at JagdishpurMuktijoddhaChattar area of Madhabpur and blocked the Dhaka-Sylhet highway on Sunday around 11:00am, halting vehicular movement.
The workers were staging a demonstration blocking the road as of writing this report around 2:30pm.
Earlier on Saturday, the government fixed the wage of tea workers at Tk 145 per day after meeting with the labour department and the union leaders. But the workers rejected the wage and vowed to continue the strike.
