Nazrul’s song ‘Ami Jar Nupurer Chhondo’ in voice of Ratna Das

On the occasion of the 127th birth anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, a special song ‘Ami Jar Nupurer Chhondo, Benukar Sur’ has been released on the official YouTube channel of renowned artiste Ratna Das.

This song, a love story of Radha and Krishna, published in the poet’s poetry collection ‘Chakrabak’ in 1928, is a unique creation of Nazrul.

The artiste has tried to give the song an aesthetic form outside the conventional genre while keeping the poet’s original words and melody intact.

Ratna said, “The number says there are five senses, but the place of the heart among those senses is exactly how much.”
